Patient REgistry – Short Essential NeuroTrauma

What is PRESENT?

PRESENT represents an innovative TBI registry, aiming to improve healthcare delivery and offer a greater understanding of traumatic brain injury. In order to reach its purposes, PRESENT uses a direct communication line and feedback cycle across all stakeholders involved in the patient's treatment. The scope of extensively using both these instruments is to encourage long-term follow-up.

Why PRESENT?

The Academy for Multidisciplinary Neurotraumatology (AMN) has taken steps to overcome systemic barriers and improve the standard of care in TBI.

An important step has been the development of the PRESENT registry, which aims to bridge the information gap among countries, preparing the ground for multidimensional approaches after TBI.

Low and middle-income countries (LMIC) are disproportionately affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI). The issues related to healthcare service delivery, health system organisation, poor health infrastructure, availability of health system information and epidemiological data hold great implications on the population.

PRESENT Vision

We aspire to become the principal hub for data collection on TBI in countries with reduced access to advanced data surveillance mechanisms.

Objectives

Developing an evidence-informed registry
Collecting only essential data

Offering e-accessibility and user-friendliness
Tailoring the instrument to clinician’s needs through intense pre-testing and piloting
