Interviewee: Iulia Vadan, Neurologist, RoNeuro Institute for Neurological Research and Diagnostic, Cluj-Napoca, Romania
Interviewer: Doria Constantinescu
We are pleased to share our interview featuring Dr. Iulia Vadan, a valued member of the Romanian delegation who participated in the inaugural Neurotrauma Treatment Simulation Center (NTSC) held in Vienna, Austria, from May 16 to May 20, 2022.
The NTSC is a pioneering hands-on initiative, spotlighting the significance of a multidisciplinary framework in neurotrauma care. Its overarching vision strives to reshape the treatment landscape by shifting the paradigm from short-term focus to comprehensive, long-term follow-up strategies.
Dr. Iulia Vadan has delved into the pivotal role that training initiatives like NTSC play in shaping one’s medical and scientific voyage. Drawing from her involvement in similar programs, notably the EAN schools, which cover a wide spectrum of neurological subjects, she specifically underscored the practicality of NTSC. Dr. Iulia Vadan conveyed her deep appreciation for the hands-on aspect of the program, emphasizing the significance of tracing a patient’s journey within a hospital setting, with a strong focus on simulation training. The primary insight gleaned from her experience was the paramount importance of fostering multidisciplinary collaboration. While she expressed overall positive sentiments, Dr. Iulia Vadan did suggest that a slight enhancement in hands-on training could further elevate the program’s effectiveness.
