The third edition of the Neurotrauma Treatment Simulation Center (NTSC) was held from June 17-20 in Vienna, Austria. This training course focuses on advancing global neurotrauma care through multidisciplinary collaboration among specialists involved in the pathway through the medical system of patients with neurotrauma. The NTSC offers participants the tools and insights needed to enhance neurotrauma care, from the pre-hospital phase to rehabilitation, ensuring better patient outcomes globally.
Dr. Parvin Akbarov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions in Azerbaijan (TABIB) and member of the board of directors at YANI Clinica, discussed how his background shaped his perception of neurotrauma care and shared his hopes for bringing the lessons gained during the NTSC to improve healthcare in Azerbaijan. Moreover, Dr. Parvin Akbarov discussed country and institution-specific strengths and limitations in the Azerbaijan medical system, particularly highlighting the ongoing changes in the emergency systems alongside the need for specialized centers. Lastly, he discussed the importance of effective leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration in neurotrauma care.
