The future of Neurotrauma in Asia
On November 4th, 2025, the prestigious Hanoi Medical University from Vietnam hosted the 2nd Edition of the NTSC Extended | AMN Intensives training course. This intensive one-day program was dedicated to advancing surgical expertise and patient outcomes for the most challenging cases in Skull Base and Penetrating Brain Trauma.
Fostering a dynamic collaborative environment among neurosurgeons, intensivists, and rehabilitation specialists, the course combined clinical case studies and debates with lectures from leading international experts to offer participants the advanced skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to push the boundaries of multidisciplinary neurotrauma care.
Managing the neurotrauma patient throughout the ‘Chain of Recovery’
Participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum designed to address real-world challenges in neurotrauma care, addressing critical areas such as:
- Diagnosis & Management of Skull Base Trauma: To build a foundational understanding of complex injuries.
- Shock Room and Pre-Hospital Management: Highlighting the importance of a rapid-response system to improve patient outcomes from the very first moment.
- Advanced Intervention Techniques: Exploring the latest techniques in surgical & endovascular procedures
- Principles of Neurorehabilitation: Focusing on long-term recovery strategies to ensure meaningful, comprehensive recovery.
Learning from Real Cases: The theory came to life through interactive case demonstrations, which allowed attendees to test their decision-making skills and learn from complex patient scenarios.
Understanding Different Approaches: Lively expert-led debates contrasted approaches to commonly encountered issues in neurotrauma patients, such as recurrent chronic subdural hematoma or CSF leakage, and presented arguments for different approaches, providing a nuanced understanding of the various therapeutic pathways.
