Each FOCUS GROUP will represent a country (e.g., FOCUS GROUP THAILAND), and a request for its set-up will be sent (to the official AMN office address office@brain-amn.org) to the AMN Management Committee for approval.
A FOCUS GROUP must contain at least 7 members with various medical backgrounds/expertise/specialization (e.g., neurology, anaesthesiology, neurosurgery, traumatology, emergency medicine, radiology, psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, etc.) so, experienced specialists normally involved in the treatment chain – “the chain of recovery” – after neurotrauma
The number of members within each FOCUS GROUP is unlimited but must always be an odd number (e.g. 9, 11, 15 a.s.o.) to ensure a fair veto process when needed.
Each FOCUS GROUP must designate an individual as MAIN REPRESENTATIVE & POINT OF CONTACT.
All members of the FOCUS GROUP must send to the AMN Management Committee their CVs alongside a letter of intent and development plan in line with the main purpose of the Academy, i.e., the advancement of neurotraumatology in research, medical practice and teaching.
The development plan of each FOCUS GROUP must contain at least 1 objective for short-, mid-, and/or long-term perspectives and must be outlined within a logical rationale. It must also contain potential results and advantages. Disadvantages and shortcomings should not be left out; having a holistic presentation would help avoid both the lack of success of the plan and any infringement it may cause on the image of AMN.
Should several FOCUS GROUPS from the same geographical area (at least 3) be set up, a REGIONAL FOCUS GROUP could be organised, with an expert from the regional group designated as MAIN REPRESENTATIVE and POINT OF CONTACT and 2 SECONDARY REPRESENTATIVES and 1 SECRETARY to form the FOCUS GROUP Leading Committee.
A FOCUS GROUP can also consist of scientific, academic and/or research organizations or societies, but must follow the setup rules of a regular FOCUS GROUP and respect the principle of multidisciplinarity.
