Message from the Minister Department of Health, Executive Yuan

On behalf of the Department of Health, it gives me great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the first joint Meeting of the 3rd International Congress of the Asia-Oceania Neurotrauma Society and the 10th Annual International Congress of Academy for Multidisciplinary Neurotraumatology. The joint Meeting will be held under the auspices of the Taiwan Neurotrauma Society. I am excited that we will be meeting in the vibrant city of Taipei yet again since our first meeting in July 2008. I still recall with vividly fond memories of our last gathering and sincerely look forward to seeing you here!

To make this joint Meeting as successful as possible, the Scientific Committee and the Local Organizing Committee have exerted a great deal of efforts in making the scientific program as full as the attractions are diverse and varied. The professionally run event will surely afford unforgettable experience to all attendees. Besides sessions and courses which provide the neurosurgeons, neuroscientists, neurotraumatologists and neurorehabilitation specialists with a comprehensive platform to share their knowledge, exchange information and enhance understanding and skill, the joint Meeting will also offer fundamental and clinical sciences sessions, workshops to meet the attendee’s professional requirements.

Rest assured that I will do my utmost to ensure that you are given ample time required to develop social and interpersonal networks and friendships so as to promote more cooperation in the field on an international level. I am confident that together we have the power to advance this spirit of cooperation and push the boundaries of neurotrauma study in the Asia Region.

I wish you all health and happiness and a most enjoyable stay in Taipei!

Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to announce the 11th AMN Annual Conference, to be held in Istanbul, 14-17
November 2013, Crowne Plaza Harbiye.
After the successful meeting in Taipei last year, the AMN conference in Istanbul will highlight again
a platform for exchange of newer scientific information related to traumatic brain injury (TBI) and
spinal cord injury (SCI). Basic and clinical researchers and practitioners from allied specialties, will
join their efforts in what promises to be an outstanding forum of discussions about creating, testing
and using methods which patients can get benefits from. A major topic will be to come to a resume
where brain and spinal cord protection and recovery stands today.
This event will be organized with the support of the Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and
Neuroplasticity.

We sincerely invite you to participate in this soulful interdisciplinary meeting!
Looking forward to welcoming you all in Istanbul,
DAFIN F. MUREȘANU

We hope and trust that you will come to actively participate in and
enjoy the prepared scientific and the social events.
We specially would like to thank David Mendelow, Honorary Congress President,
for providing us the forum to meet, and Ingo Steudel and Jean-Luc Truelle for
their fruitful suggestions and cooperation. Last but not least we would like to
tank Dafin Muresanu and his SSNN team, namely Ovidius Selejan, for taking
care about the final distribution of the documents by ground mail and being at
the AMN office in Newcastle (more information see http://www.brain-amn.org/

6th AMN Congress and Members Meeting

Thursday, 05 September 2013 06:24 Published in Events

Donald G. Stein, Emory University Atlanta, Georgia, USA

As the Chair of the Scientific Committee, I am delighted to write this note of welcome to the 6th International meeting of the AMN and to thank Professor Dr. Dafin F. Muresanu, Secretary General of the Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity, and Dr. Alexandru Ciurea, President of the Romanian Society of Neurosurgery, and their colleagues for organizing this international and interdisciplinary event.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the scientific and professional community to come together and learn about neurorehabilitation and repair of the damaged nervous system in a collegial and scholarly setting.
The AMN meeting in Cluj-Naponca is especially appropriate because this historic city is one of the key academic centers of Romania.
I hope all of you will enjoy the meeting and come away from it with new insights and perspectives that can be applied and translated into more effective care and treatment for the victims of traumatic injury to the brain and spinal cord.
With very best wishes for a highly successful meeting and visit!

George P. Prigatano, Barrow Neurological Institute Phoenix, Arizona, USA

As the first President of the AMN it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the 6th Annual AMN Congress, which is being held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
The AMN is a new and small organization aimed at bringing together clinicians, academicians, and researchers who have a common goal. The goal is to better understand how trauma to in the central nervous system disturbs function and what can be done to improve restoration of function based on our present knowledge within the neurosciences.
I regret that I am unable to attend this meeting, but certainly hope that I will have a chance to see many of you at future meetings. Professor Klaus von Wild, the General Secretary, would certainly be eager to hear from any of you regarding your thoughts concerning the AMN and ideas for improving our annual meeting.
1 would also like to take this opportunity to specifically address to Professors Muresanu and Ciurea my gratitude for their hosting this meeting and putting in the hard work of making sure that such a conference runs smoothly and successfully.

Alexandru Vlad Ciurea, President of Romanian Society of Neurosurgery, Romania

Dafin Fior Muresanu, Secretary General of the Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity, Romania

Dear Colleagues,
The Society for the Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity together with The Romanian Society of Neurosurgery are organizing the 6th AMN Congress in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 19-23 April, 2008
Cluj-Napoca (Klaunsenburg) is an old, cultural and especially academical town. This location, in the heart of Romania, is the best choice for such an important event like the Congress of Academy for Multidisciplinary Neurotraumatology.
